Despite the negative posts here I have to say that CVX is as good a place to kick start a career. I appreciate the work that at times was challenging and it further added to my skillset. I can’t say that it’s a company you can retire from because I gave my notice today. I’m moving on not because of the company but simply because I’ve found an opportunity to advance my career and I don’t want to regret not taking it.

Well if you get a nice severance and retirement stash at the ideal time like many of us who stuck it out, you would also understand that it's a nice place to finish up as well. The energy industries have been feast or famine, up and down ever since I can remember. Why should now be any different and people be treated so special all of a sudden?
Broken record -- pop pop pop
How is this layoff related?
Congratulations! I'm curious how many years you have with Chevron?
So which skillsets from Chevron that you’ve picked are relevant in your new job? Would like to here your thoughts..
Clarification. I meant congrats on your new job, not congrats that you are leaving.
Congrats!
Good for. Hard work in a field of your own choosing can keep you young. Staying in a chaotic and backstabbing environment because the benefits will make you old before your time.
