Why is this the only place I ever worked at where hard work is punished and the harder you work you receive less protection? We are rewarded with more work, mistreated by managers, and pushed under the bus by anybody who believes it might serve them in any way. How is it good business policy to treat your best employees like this?

Tried to go above and beyond for years and it took two events to show me that they do not value an employee who will really get out there and do a good job! As a young man I always wondered why the old heads would talk cr-p about the company and then they showed me. I do what I am supposed to do but not one ounce extra, and that is until they board the place up then I will move right along!
The union is 🗑. They’re all paid off by the company. Biggest joke
They mismanage every area of the railroad. That treat you like sh-t because the union claims there is nothing they can do adopt. I switched jobs not my craft and with 24 years they still kick ya when your down. They know there employees can’t afford attorneys at the level NS CAN.
Could be worse. Go look at the meltdowns happening on the BNSF boards here. Ouch.

I cant believe the id--ts who keep posting here. STOP WORKING HARD AND FAST!!! You will just get more work. Anyone with 20 plus years knows this! STOP!!! Everyone makes the same damn money...Slow down! You're fu----g it up for everyone else! Damn!!!
Work by their rules
Keep your mouth shut
Never give an extra move unless you get another time slip
And never give up information
Finally go to work to make money not friends !
I really don’t understand the purpose of the unions anymore. He-l they don’t even give T shirts or tickets to minor league baseball games anymore and I really miss it. I thought that’s why we paid dues? It was so awesome meeting up at the ball park in matching shirts and singing the 7th inning stretch together while drinking hot draft beer. I also really miss spending time outside of work with my union brothers and sisters that I hate. Nothing Compares...Nothing

They whip the horse that pulls the hardest. Most workers could care less about their jobs anymore so you see a pattern of laziness and poor quality. It’s been a downhill trend like that for past few years. Try to not get frustrated and do your job. If they shut the doors, at least you can walk out with your head held high. Don’t be an overachiever and stress yourself out, cause nobody cares. Good luck.
