By 2030, Shell must cut its CO2 emissions by 45% compared to 2019 levels, the civil court ruled.
The Shell group is responsible for its own CO2 emissions and those of its suppliers, the verdict said.
It is the first time a company has been legally obliged to align its policies with the Paris climate accords, says Friends of the Earth (FoE).

What kind of jurisdiction does Dutch court have? The moved the headquarters and most of their ops are oversees.

Most will say it's no big deal, it is only for Netherlands and will be overturned in higher court.

However, Shell is in a deep pile of po-p. This is the first of many cases, and more important the public image is about to take an absolutely beating as more and more of these cases catch the public eye.
