Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Major Layoffs coming to Greenville by end of year

Repost:

Greenville is really bad and getting worse by the day! Bad news for Greenville is that it's getting ready to lose one of GE's biggest science projects in company history. If you are employed in Greenville, you know the golden goose project that will be ending this year. You also know the work force and engineering that supported this project will no longer be needed. That means MAJOR layoffs will be coming to Greenville this year. Engineering will be impacted the most. But of course, the manufacturing staff also had a dog in the fight. Many will be jobless by Christmas in Greenville.

Greenville ge ain't so bad . You just gotta be one of the good ole boys.Tell everyone how hard you work so they don't have to,then go tell management how lazy everyone on the shop floor is ,Once management bites this hook set it .wash rinse repeat until lies become truth . Pitifully weak minded workers managing pitiful college educated mid level managers that never pay attention to who's really working , because their to busy listening to manipulation that's been let run wild far too long.

GE is a pathetic company and if you still work for GE you are also pathetic. Why would anybody want to be associated with such trash?

I left three years ago and there are better companies available that treat their employees with more respect. Every third year at GE the raises were frozen and every 4-5 years another layoff cycle. Interviewing to keep your job was an insulting PR move that was degrading.

GVL will be fine the they don't have any D rates!! I heard a rumor that GE is going to offer T rates jobs in GVL. Dont listen to the noise GE hasn't wanted the D rates since the 80s. They are a virus. Why stay in NY??? High taxes?? Weather?? All the jobs??? I'll take it if they offer.

The Golden Goose would be gas turbine validation testing. Ending after the current test this year. GE is getting tired of spending many millions per test. Also getting tired of all the salaries for people to sit around and wait on the next test.

Soon there will major cuts in Greenville and Schenectady LC needs his other half of his bonus package. Let’s all admit it Both places are ran like dog waist. Management can not order the correct supplies to do the job but keep piling the workloads on one guy. GE does not want worker retention they want people to walk out so that’s less of a layoff. This company is not a career based employment anymore.

If all the people that hate GE would take their whining somewhere else, there wouldn't be a need for any layoffs. If you're so unhappy working for them, grow a pair and leave.

You are correct, GE is a horrible company. The boot keeps getting harder on our faces and the bottom of the boot has a big glob of dog mess. This place really stinks.
