Did anyone on chemical side hear about this? Im working night shift and my FLS told me that darren woods told technical about this. The tech. manager and SLS came down to deliver this news together...obviously skeptical because we know how attrition/PIP is happening and understaffed/overworked everything is.
Asked my shiftmate and she said yes this happened
Can’t really be successful by transferring u/s or d/s id--ts into chemicals. Chem would be better off independent of Xom.

OP here. surprise that this was told to technical like this beforehand and that soon, because why not just announce it like taking away our 401k. Was interested to see if anyone else heard about it before hand too but hey its back~!

I’ve heard from multiple supervisors now that the Baytown area will probably be hiring next year because attrition has been too high for plant engineers. I’ve also heard Beaumont is in the same boat.
And it’s only June. A whole lot of attrition left to go.
Hiring for Chemicals when they announced they are selling stuff? And, in Dec lay-offs I thought Chemicals wasn't cut as much as the Upstream. They shouldn't hire they should move technical folks from other areas of the company ...especially the ones at risk of losing their jobs.
