Downstream Canada forum announced an above field study under HW3 and how it can impact headcount. Anyone have details on this and what groups will be targeted? Thanks.

The Downstream business in Canada is clearly overstaffed. But it is not limited to the downstream only.Corporate department are the main culprits, especially Controllers. There is evidently significant duplication of work with several layers of non-value added and largely incompetant management that is incapable of making any meaningful decisions or providing work directions without reaching out to Houston. Favoritism and cronyism is manifested throughout the organisation with visible minorities, barring a few as* kissers, without a seat at the table. 75% of these Controllers jobs (BAR, RU Analysts, controls advisors) can easily and readily be outsourced to any GBC at less than 30% of existing average SWB cost in Canada. The writing is on the wall. The days of discrimination and protecting certain individuals is coming to an end.

Or better yet, move Carr and his minions to India at the prevailing Indian salaries and benefits. And then terminate him at YE when Woods is terminated.

Can we move Ian Carr back to the UK and PIP him as we definitely blotted in this grossly under performing position and toss in his minions in the same PIP round.

HW3 = How and Where We Work
Initiative launched in F&L (Fuels and Lubes, i.e. Downstream) by the “late” Bryan Milton.
Basically move as many position as possible in low salary cost countries (India, Malaysia, you name it).

Been in some downstream meetings recently. They’ve already been told by consulting firms the D/S is overstated and bloated across all assets with a select few being “on the leaner side” compared to others. Not sure if that’s accurate or which groups within D/S they are alluding to as being bloated.

Did the fearless leaders leading the forum didnt share details? I guess not, they continue to blind side people on purpose.
