Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

WFH being 3 days a week.....was this communicated company-wide?

I've read some posts here referring to the fact that BNYM is about to issue the verdict that once we all are cleared to return to working on-site it will be mandated as a 3-day a week schedule (T-W-Th). Personally I have not received any emails from upper or lower echelons regarding this. The last comm I received was mid-June when Todd said a that a lot of options were on the table for hybrid working...and that various options would be available to everyone.

Can anyone refer to a release that this policy 3-day policy will be pertain to everyone?

Well, the cat is out of the bag. 3 days/week (Tue-Wed-Thu) WFH every week.

I’ll need to plan the office days carefully so I know in advance when I shouldn’t need the ladies room all day

It means working 3 days in the office one week and then full time WFH the following week..and so on. We've been told this is mandatory and we'll be assigned a cohort for the three days in the office. Any 3 days may be chosen at our discretion for the office weeks.

I bet if you're crafty enough, you can figure out a way to still binge watch Netflix at your desk in between complaining.

@1nvv+1bDyCdUV, sure sounds like you are speaking for yourself. How do you know others are sitting at home watching TV, maybe some of your coworkers? Not everyone should be grouped in that type of behavior. You're one of those who can't be trusted and I feel sorry for anyone who has to work with a person like you who accuses others of doing such. Just shut your mouth, go back to the office and suck up to upper management. You're a perfect fit for the firm, it's seems like a good look for you.

That is correct and Jersey City plans to have workers back starting the first week of September. Everyone is expected to work from the office three days a week. In addition for mid year and year end reviews they want employees chose 3 to 6 employees in the firm they interact with to provide feedback on them for their reviews in addition to manager reviews. Wonder who came up with that idea. Probably suggested by those inept managers that gave loyal hard working employees those does not meet reviews to cover their rears. This company should be ashamed of the way they treat their employees. Glad I'm out of that he-l ho-e.

@1nvv...Wow. I am so glad I don’t have to go back to the office with the likes of you. It’s really great that you are so intimately involved with the lives of your colleagues and trust them in how they spend their time. You’re a 🍑.

@1uxf What do you mean by "3 days in office every other week?" Does that mean the weeks between those weeks will be optional about how we choose to work (all, none, some WFH)?

3 days in office every other week is what we were told. The rest is WFH.

@1nvv+1bDyCdUV because we don't want to deal with being unable to disengage away from the toxicity from you...calling people lazy and old school assumptions about everyone who works from home. Reminds me perfectly of why I don't want to be in the office.

Three days a week in the office still gives us four days to work from home.

Managers got a notice today that it will be 3 days a week and how we need to communicate to our teams. I’m hoping that after a few months in, it can go back to a manager discretion. I am more productive at home for sure. This is a major misstep.

Nothing will be communicated in writing. This is the same as when Charlie said he was not opposed to WFH and had each person submit a flex arrangement request through the HR portal only for everyone to be denied because behind closed doors he made it clear to management that WFH was being eliminated. It took employee pushback to reverse his course.

Choose to believe the info or don't, it's up to you. Managers are being told "from the top" ( word coming from Todd on down) that all employees must be in office Tues, Wed, Thurs and no exceptions. Everyone will be back on September 7.

Now is the time to make our voices and offer the C suite an opportunity to fix this before Todd ends up with an optics problem reminiscent of Charlie.
