Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Did our management really learn nothing during the pandemic?

Did they really not figure out that work from home is good for the company? I know for a fact that my team was more productive working from home than at the office. Do they expect to keep the same levels of productivity even when people are more tired (less sleep, commute) and distracted (too many people in one place) than when they were well rested and fully concentrated???

I actually can’t wait to go back to the office.

I won’t work a second over the 40 hour work week. Not a second.

Syracuse office closed and if your team in Pune and Chennai India now 2x bigger you will be laid off. First you have to train your Indian replacement. India thanks Todd and India tech-ops section leader Hood. Hood and Todd don’t care for employees who kept company running from their homes. Happy last 4th of July Holiday because next year your replacement in India will not be off on 7/4

Management wants to bully us with the help of psychopaths under them. Its all about control and more you stay inside those four walls of the building the more they can control people. The invisible HR with its surveillance team could not do a better job in monitoring. Its a part of strategy.

At least we get two days…could be worse, but could also be much better. Much better. Is this a ploy to get more people to quit? If they did all days in the office, too many people would quit though.

It’s a trust issue. From my experience, managers don’t trust their subordinates and feel if they can see them then they work better. We all know if you can’t trust the people that work for you, why hire them? Most everyone I knew was trustworthy but the chatter was not from a position of trust and turned to bitter infighting and finger pointing to save ones soul in the eyes of management. It was gross.
