Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

About Time

  • to start endless threads about this year’s package offering.

I hear it’s coming Nov 1 instead of Dec, and it includes a $20 k signing bonus.
Off payroll by Thanksgiving.

We were told there would be no packages this year, too much work to do.

Package? ROFL. I am waiting until 2023 when I will just shoo you out the door unioners. I was brought into this role to trim the fat and there is no bigger fat than the union bloat that is dragging down the bottom line like a boat anchor. If I were you I would look now for the exit because there will not be a handout and 2023 is fast approaching!

That’s not enough to get people to leave early. If they added some time, that would get the attention of the 25-28 year person. Bigger lump with no taxes taken….. Sign me up.

You have to agree to the package. If you sign, there was a 10 k bonus for the use of your ink, hearing its now 20k
But and extra 10k is peanuts when you’re talking 7 figure decisions.

If the disability is paid out by insurance, then it would be the cheaper route for VZ.

They're wasting their time with a $20,000 signing bonus since we all know 40% tax is taken from that. I guess only employee's right at that 30 year mark will gladly take it but for an employee with 25-28 years it's a no go and they will ride out on disability. Verizon is so stupid, just offer the amount that they offered in 2018 and be done, this will surely clean house and give them the numbers that they want. So they prefer to pay an employee to sit on disability rather than offer a decent package?? Verizon is alot more d-mber than I thought, I give them too much credit.

It’s possible for CSSC anyway….went from mandatory OT daily, to M time overnight…..I know they’re shipping the calls out, but if it means a buyout, who cares!!

Do you think it will be as good as the VSP to non union employees in 2018? That package was AMAZING!

As it stands now we barely have enough people to walk picket lines. It would be smart for Verizon to offer EISPs each year until 2023, and there would be hardly anyone left to strike anyway. Fortunately, 95 percent of union represented employees can retire with a full pension by 08.23 anyway, so I don't feel bad or sorry for us. Get your pension, use your 401k, and do something else. Everyone and everywhere is hiring, or just retire for real and feed the birds in the park and enjoy your existence.
