Has it always been that way here? I can hardly describe my SM to you, you need to experience that. The person is completely mentally unstable and I don’t understand at all how she could have come to the position of SM. You can never know how that person will react. I understand that working in this company is very stressful, but people who cannot control their emotions should not be SM. At least I think so.

During my time at Macy's I remember very few "unstable" sales managers. However, the ones that I considered "unstable" were unbelievable. Perhaps they read the job announcement incorrectly. They read "S&M" instead of "SM" as part of their job description? Still, in some Macy's stores this look is very fashion forward. I believe that Macy's tries to enforce fair and reasonable standards on it's managers, however, because of new "diversity" policies there might be a need to hire more "S&M" managers as well.
As a former store manager I can assure you we don’t start off crazy...the job makes you crazy. It’s an insane amount of pressure and you’re expected to work miracles with next to no resources. The titanic is sinking and upper management is just rearranging the chairs....
Well I have seen a few unstable SM in the stores. Over 20 years experience supporting tech and I’ve seen some doozies. Some of them are very good and have a lot of patience which is required for any management position. Have also seen some hotheads in the past making demands and treating people worse than garbage or rats would be treated, no joke!!
Yes, it is quite common to have an unstable manager at Macy's.
simple reason.. Macys loves mental unstable people in management roles.. reason?> they wanna fire people left and right and blame it on that SM so they then can fire that person when the lawsuits coming raging in..
