Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

TEAMS SHOULD HAVE A SAY

Managers should get to decide or have a higher say in what works for their team as the EC has ZERO clue the day to day life of most of the company. If a manager thought an employee wasn’t producing the expected level of work - that’s a performance issue. If my manager has had zero complaints about my level of performance and availability, why shouldn’t I be allowed to continue working this way? My mental health has been the best it has ever been since working at BNYM, and with this email I can see it going out the door being forced back into office when there is no need. If you want to go in, great, but why make most areas when it should be a team by team decision?

@2wwi, I'll work from home just like I did pre-pandemic. If the bank doesn't like it have feels the need to micro manage professionals, they can fire me.

Because they give you your paycheck so you do what they say. Don’t like it? Leave. Plain and simple. You worked in the office before and were supposed to wfh TEMPORARILY. Get over it.

Simply because other big banks have changed their minds. BNY only follows what others do.
