Todd laying blame on Managers

Todd's email lays out that managers are incompetent.l and employees are not trustworthy. He says "complicated for our managers to oversee which employees were where, and when".

Hey Toddy, with unassigned seating, are managers to roam the floor to confirm each of their employees are in the office and there on time, all day?

Sounds and smells like more BS.

I saw no survey about how many days I would prefer to be in the office. When was this survey done? Perhaps my boss answered that for me. I rarely speak to my boss or the boss to me. How would I know? Additionaly, Todd's email makes me feel like I am in elementary school and needing to be tracked.

Seems odd that people working in open collaboration centers dislike the background noise and distractions even as those who work in offices with doors seem largely to believe that open collaboration areas are the way to go.

  • and to think that JPMC will have 50% of people taking turns each week to go back to office.

What happened to having 50% in office? Shame on the EC for putting out posts that it was up to teams and managers and then flipping and saying managers aren’t competent enough. If that’s the case - get rid of managers who cannot control or keep track their team. Ridiculous

Major anxiety attack thinking about going back in. It works for myself and my manager for us to stay home and continue to produce the same level of work we used to, if not more now that we are available more times during the week. This “work/life balance” is now completely over.

Despite being vaccinated (they are not 100% effective) , they are going to force me, who am at high risk of complications, be in very close proximity to unvaccinated people?

Maybe some research to see if they can legally do this. Another option is the media I guess.

If 90% of your employees are in the office Tuesday - Thursday and you closed a third of your retail presence where are the people that can't fit in the office going to work? In the parking lot?

While in the pgh office I’m going to engage in brief conversations by bumping into my colleagues who mostly work in India or the UK? Interesting. What buffoonery

Why give a survey where 90% of people reply that they want to WFH 4-5 days a week, and the do the opposite? And here I thought they actually cared about our opinions.

I’m talking to another company now, and I just became more interested. Being a programmer I have options.

What a pitiful excuse of a leader & company. All corporate speak BS. they leaned nothing from the chainsaw Charlie debacle.
Also, in the area where I work, there isn’t enough desks for the amount of employees so having everybody in the office on the same day will be a issue… Although, people have been leaving like crazy & mgt can’t find replacements.

And what is the purpose of these pecan surveys? They’re not listening to what employees are saying so why bother paying what I’m sure is a ridiculous amount of money for a third-party to survey our opinions.
