how long do you think they will keep throwing that kind of money around. they will over hire, get these hires qualified, and then furlough some of them. your ot will go away and some of them will be without jobs. rinse and repeat
I made $6500 in 2 weeks as a conductor recently. True story.
If you like not having a schedule, no off days and want to make less then your making now. Come on
You should do it. NS is a wonderful company to work for. They really care about you and treat you like family
RUN!
You’re posting this on “the layoff”. Com pretty much answers your question for you.
Do your research. This is the 2nd worst company to work for in the USA. Trust me and many others. I have 23 years in. It's a joke now. Was it a good place to work for 15 -20 years ago? Yes it was. Once Goode retired, it went down hill.
Why are they furloughing so many people? I thought this was suppose to be a secure company and a good place to work,
HE-L NO!!!!! DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!
first off you won't really be making much more money because they will be witholding railroad retirement and union dues for a useless union that does nothing to represent you. every contract that get signed is worse than the one before it. your copays for health insurance will keep going up every year. you will work terrible schedules. there is no upside. don't do it
DONT DO IT! YOULL BE LAID OFF IN 1-2 YEARS.
don't do it. they will suck the life out of you
I promise if you quit a job to work for NS you will regret it.
