Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Is there trust?

How many employees have taken a valid concern to HR only to have their voices fall on deaf ears? How many have been retaliated against because of this? Is there anyone here who does trust HR to resolve an issue? Or have you used outside sources? Most importantly, has anyone felt safe going to HR about anything?

Omg that is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time and the understatement of the year - The HR group at Cenovus is not a human resources group in the normal sense. There is nothing normal or competent about HR at cenovus, Just look at their LinkedIn profiles. Education and experience is a after thought. And we wonder why there is a problem with culture at Cenovus. Oh wait the expensive consultants will fix that! It’s a joke. Wake up people!

The HR group at Cenovus is not a human resources group in the normal sense. They are there for payroll administration and layoffs. CVE does not require an HR function that is skilled in attracting talent and retaining people.

If you trust HR you are as d-mb as a sack of hammers. If you call the integrity line it is an independent third party investigation so at least there’s that.

No they cannot be trusted. They cannot follow their own emplyee code of conduct. Retaliation is an understatement. This company laid off everyone on my team 4 years ago and expected me to continue the work that six people used to do. I was told during an evaluation s that I was coming up short on my job and things weren't getting finished on time the way it did when we had six people doing the work. It's not that they don't get it, it's that they don't want to get it. Retaliated against for it to put it bluntly standing up for myself and saying and reporting that 1 person cannot continue the work of 6 people year over year. After 2 years of that and being sh-t on constantly by so called superiors and some peers, I burned out and broke. Don't go to the wood group for 3 one hour sessions because they will lecture you how Cenovus is a great company and your inadequate if you don't go back and just do your job better. They share medical information and used it against me. If you are suffering from way too much stress, anxiety or some mental health problems, don't share this with this company. They don't want to hear it. The didn't accept my resignation like professionals because I wrote down my reasons for leaving in my resignation letter. I took nothing from them. They harassed me after I left. They blackballed me across the HR network. My forgiveness isn't the one they'll need.
