Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Don't tell your coworkers you're looking to leave

I did and I screwed myself over majorly. Now my boss knows and it's a very awkward and uncomfortable situation. Not to mention that now I can kiss goodbye even the possibility of getting severance. They have zero incentive to include me on the next list of layoffs when they know I'm planning to leave as it is.

@35vnv+1bPcwfNn Wow, you need to get a life. You posted the same comment on how many discussion topics now, 12? Allot of time on your hands? Not sure your posts are achieving what you think they are, cause TBH you just seem weirdly obsessed. Spurned love interest? Whatever, you're def not adding anything of interest or value to the conversation.

Wolvie, often there is link between company state and managers' decisions. There is cause and effect relationship. If you resigned earlier this year, what brings you here?
Would you share? I sincerely wish you well and I hope that you are in a better place now.

Does the author of this post assume the main target for his manager is to have the smallest team?

Heh. It's kind of funny how you misunderstand managers decisions vs. Company state 😁 And sadly you are so eager to judge people on the topics they never spoke of XD.
But precisely - Wolverine I am and I'm sick of the company (I quit ~spring btw). The initiative is nothing newer or better than old Sabre 'novel' initiatives. Bogged down by the same approach of 'one common Sabre'.

But on the main topic.
Seriously you think you are so important that the management will search for rumors to put you on some fancy 'layoff list'. Cmon. Survival in Sabre management swamp requires a little bit more than that..

"Doesn't really matter. They wont plan such steps based on rumors and whining of employees.
Hey. We whine all day. 😁"

Just look at the nickname.
Probably self-complacent member of the Wolverine project.
Thinks she is special and better cause she landed in the project where 80% of attention focuses and for a while things are more or less organized and people are treated right.
She might even think that everything is fine at Sabre, cause - hey - she is fine.

It does matter. The last two years I was asked if I liked my job at every performance review and my word were recorded in the review.
I think that you get the picture. Any sign of discontent with the status quo would be taken directly against the employee. Even if someone had a plan of how to improve the status quo that did not matter. I believe that upper management was looking for reasons not to give pay raises or to put people on their layoff list. Maybe they still are.
Same thing applies for the the elite group whoever they may be - TPF or other.

'Former Manager here- they won't do anything as likely they are looking too.'

That was funny! And, probably true.

A word of encouragement - we all learn from our mistakes, but I do not think that your mistake is that fatal. I think that you will land a new job soon. Keep looking.
