20% salary reduction. That does not mean 20% of heads but 20% salary $ reduction.

Anyone willing to post the number of offers offered? If 1000 is the target wondering what percentage that is.

Heard target is 1000. I’m hoping those that are retirement eligible or unhappy with Ford (and aren’t earning a pension anyway) will take the offer so that the rest of us have a chance.
Anyone planning on taking it?

The cuts will continue. previous poster stated the 2000's reductions
05 Voluntary (Quiet one like zero publicity on this one)
06 involuntary
07 Voluntary
08 Involuntary
09 Involuntary
Anyone who has there 30 years to 35 years they are targeting big time...Those who are closing in on 30 and close to 55 with HC they are watching as well. Do not be surprised to see them freeze the pension inside of 5 years..
Look at present HC in both NA and global? Check the cycle plan for your area? If there are no products HR edict 7% reduction the following year.

"That question was asked in the Ford + town hall and they mentioned they will meet the target through the involuntary if the voluntary doesn't."

That's NOT what was said. They dodged the question by saying, "We hope to meet the goal with the voluntary packages."

They don’t always do voluntary and involuntary in the same year but in the past the voluntary or PRP was offered toward the end of the year, they take some time to assess the damage and do involuntary the first or second quarter of the following year. Sometimes they tell us the voluntary separations hit the target and we have a sigh of relief only to get hit with involuntary separations in a few months. It’s just not healthy for people to constantly have this hanging over their heads. Not to mention the lost productivity due to (understandable) gossip and fretting.

Yes, They have done involuntary after voluntary requests (via email) came out in 2006 …. The involuntary time period was late 2007-2008 (and if memory serves last early 2009). Went through over 3 rounds of involuntary thru
2009 …. In waves. Months of watching coworkers being walked out.
It wasn’t until 2018 that history has been repeating.

I can't remember the last time they did both in the same year, so I would say relax. They somehow always make the voluntary numbers or come close enough call it a day.

Think they do this on purpose - say the number is 1,000 as is being tossed about, then they will send out 1,200 or 1,400 invites to make the number......they have also sweetened the deal in the past, as well, to make the numbers. Watch closely - if no sweetener every comes, then they are confident they will make the numbers....if one comes like in did in 2018, then they are in trouble and need an extra push. They pretty much had to in 2018, as the push was to get of layers of management, and there were a lot of L6, L5, and L4's with 25 plus years in that did not exactly want to leave.....but when that extra 9 months came in plus topping off the pension, magically they made their numbers.
