Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

With the push to India, there is a good argument that Nike is already doing async remote work. I have easily 50% non Nike city ETWs in my part of the org who will never go in to the office when it reopens.

What policies do you see taking root wrt remote work?

What I’ve seen:

  • managers pre covid could allow remote work if the employee basically demanded it
  • managers may still be able to do this if you’ve been at Nike a year or so as FTE - I think the theory is that this makes it easier for them to justify based on your documented performance
