Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

How many were naïve?

My husband told me to forget Heartz and move on with our lives. I needed to stop holding out for a call back to return because chances are slim to none that it will ever happen. I realize (grudgingly) that he was correct. Of course waiting months and realizing I waited in vain was a harsh wake up call. I’m in the process of looking for another job that fits me and not just taking anything that I’m offered. I should have started sooner but that’s what happens when you’re naïve.

Ive been waiting 18 months now. Thank God I dont really need/want to work there again. But if there's an employee shortage, why havent they reached out to the laid off employees? We know the job and can hit the ground running.

The problem here is other industries that are struggling for help have adjusted their hours of operations. Unlike these greedy pigs that just keep taking reservations when we can’t clean and service the cars fast enough. Let alone move the line of customers.

All stages of hertz in many locations are severely hurting for help and running those who are working into the ground

I’m sorry to read your story. My wife was in a similar situation with her old company that she worked for many years. Luckily she was hired for a corporate position about a month ago at Hertz in Estero. Since the reemergence from bankruptcy last month they’ve been adding more staff. My wife worked with a recruiter at Hertz. Maybe a recruiter could help you by seeing what you’d interested in? Perhaps you’d be qualified for a different position? Good luck to you and I hope you find something you ate happy with. 🙏🏻

If you work in operations and you haven’t been called back at this point you can forget it. Operations is so desperate right now they hire without even interviewing.
