CEO Roundtable call today to discuss mandating vaccines . MT was on the call. Google, Facebook and Netflix all announced mandatory vaccines after the call. More to follow. Likely the majority of all Fortune 500 Companies will mandate vaccines within 30 days.

@4ijg - your co-worker should be worried about the vaccinated individuals as they are the ones that can still catch covid and pass it on to the unvaccinated.

Even as a vaccinated individual, Peirs still caught covid. Requiring your coworkers to be vaccinated will not make your work environment safe like you believe. Most of you are chomping at the bit to blame someone else for making you unsafe. Grasp reality. You will either not get it, or get it and survive or not survive. It will be no one’s fault. Do we go around blaming the regular flu deaths on those that had the flu and survive? Do you want to go down that road?

Why doesn’t management just make a decision? Require a vaccine unless you have doctors certification that prevents one? People can then make up their own mind on what they want to do. Quit dancing around the hard question.

Somehow denote those that are vaccinated with a patch.

Where this is getting interesting is I have a team member, early 50’s , that has reduced lung capacity due to some childhood illness. He has asked management to assure him he will not have to work near any unvaccinated employees. He has told me privately if they cannot assure him he will file an ADA claim and request to work from home permanently.

While it is true there have been a small number of people in the office (largely their choice) there is ongoing discussions about vaccine requirements. The Delta variant is creating new pressure because of how much more contagious it is than the Alpha virus. And with approximately 70% of employees vaccinated there is growing pressure to deal with unvaccinated. One option being explored is physically separating the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. Another is assign unvaccinated to non-core hours. There seems to be no appetite to just ignore the issue.

As the variant claims more and more lives of innocent children the public will demand proof of vaccine for work, restaurants, air travel, sporting events, anywhere there is larger numbers of people. The public won’t allow a small amount of uneducated, selfish people endanger children. Several European countries have already taken this stance.

Maybe just adopt NFL model. If an unvaccinated team member develops COVID quarantine the entire team and no one gets paid.

Do t think required just mask upif in office if not from what was communicated. No proof of vac. Just word….

SF would like the office to be the China, college and high school control model and moving that way

For now-no proof of vac

One of the aspects being hotly debated at the highest levels is whether to extend PTO benefits to individuals that test positive for COVID. Get sick, test positive, no pay. Before others weigh in, PTO is granted by the employer. Employers have the freedom to set the parameters on PTO.It is not a constitutional right. Medical expenses would be subject to group plan as usual.
