Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Norfolk Southern is a nightmare!

I have 18 years in and I’m to far in to quit but it’s damn near impossible to go on! I hate that I ever applied to this God forsaken place and will cherish the day that I last set foot there. They have truly ran that company into the ground and the unions have become a joke!

How bout the two non agreement guys in this thread lol. Let them gripe and you and your management friends can laugh about it. I have 17 years in and can’t wait to find a new job. I hate this company but need this job until I find an alternative. Get over yourself.

Folks jumping like rats from a sinking ship at my location, never seen anything like it, ( some with a decade or more of service ), sure you had the few people within their first year quit every now and then. It speaks volumes how morale and the way NS has treated/harassed their employees ever since the implementation of “ PSR “

It’s not too late to start over. I started over at 51. It can be done. Being 50 is not the Death sentence it used to be. Many companies are looking for experienced people.

18yrs - 49 years old. too late to start over. I've missed my kids growing up, ended up divorced so now I only see them every other weekend. I gave everything to this company. I feel like such a id--t. Regret ever coming here.

Not many people regret leaving. Your missing out on more than you realize. Things that money can’t buy.

“ Nothing new on this site. Same old whining as usual! Just effing quit or go out! It's not hard! DAMN!” TYPICAL LOCAL UNION LANGUAGE. As long as they have their weekends..... oh yeah same ones who get pi---d when you request a job to be posted because it might force them go to a FRI/SAT vs SAT/SUN. Phucking Union boyz

16 years in, been looking for a new job for about a month. If I stayed it would be third shift for 5-6 years and mandatory double shifts weekly... so yeah... over it. Water under the bridge. Chin up mate.

The attitudes of I’m too far in to quit is not only not true, it’s exactly what they are counting on. You are never too far in to leave. I did, best thing I ever did.
