KLTC Lazy Scrounging

Who else is sick of KLTC’s jobsworth and lazy scrounging?

They take a pay cheque and deliver little to no real value (apart from the odd report etc, which no one reads anyway).

No attempt to try and improve systems or take initiative, just bugging people who are actually busy in the field.

“ser is my report right?”, “pls can we investigate ser” etc. Useless, use your own brain. Clearly thinking is above the pay grade

This concept of offshoring started because people think certain work is “beneath” them or their employees. If you aren’t giving good direction to what you want the TC people to focus on, then you get what you asked for. Garbage in, garbage out. The TC people are generally very talented and hardworking, but unless their customer tells them what is needed, they don’t have the luxury of being onsite to try and find out. OP is a perfect example of a lower performer thinking they aren’t.

this sounds like a bit of a personal issue.
if you have some specific examples and suggestions of improvement, good enough.
Issue on one side is jibber-jabber.

Those commenting kltc are great and probably 1-2 yr contact engineers who don’t any better and don’t realize how the company is shafting them in the long term

The KL engineers that I work everyday are all great! You just need to be flexible in night calls, mentor as needed. They are at least as capable of any engineer in the US

This is exactly how global projects functions. He-l, I'd rather pay an engineer 20% of a US based salary versus getting the garbage we get from our projects.

“This signal is fluctuating” - Every KL report

But seriously, I feel bad for those guys. A lot of them went to great universities in the west and can’t work here for lack of a visa. They’re just as smart as any American worker, but they’re in a cr---y job with little pertinent training and little direction. I’m not sure I would be much more useful if I were put in the same stupid situation.

I think it’s important that your anger over TMTS is directly appropriately at the managers who came up with this stupid idea and not the people who are in a dead end job staring at trends 8-12 hours a day.

People in KL are pretty good from what I experienced. Sometimes you run into problems when they are doing work dependent on a lot of back and forth with site folks. It's not them so much as the challenge of time delay and info attenuation in a distributed work process across time zones.

Lazy scrounging? Are you a 19th century robber baron?

Judging that they only earn less than 20% of what you’re getting. I will be worried if they were to be any use. You don’t expect engineers that never seen a site before to contribute.

More lazy KLTC = More job security
