They treat employees like dirt and then are shocked when nobody wants to work for them. Shocking.

The rot starts at the top
Wow, this is just another prime example of blatant corporate greed out of control in this country, pure and simple! First they avoid taxes legally for years by using operating loss carryforwards (google it) and whatever other tax strategies they can leverage to drastically reduce or eliminate paying taxes. Then they take billions in covid bailout money from - you guessed it - you the taxpayer. Then they furlough, furlough, furlough. And the final humiliation is they will shame you into "volunteering" for work without pay so you feel obliged to do it in order to keep your job. Shame on you American Airlines! SHAME ON YOU! Maybe the CEO and other overpaid C-level executives of American Airlines should pay these volunteers out of their own generous stock options and well-lined money pockets.
