I’m an outsider on my team. everyone is tied to management minus myself. Is this the norm here?

That is an old MF club when they grew out of the Novell and Cobol corners.
They never walked their talk.
It depends on what role you have. If you're in a technical role, you should be ok. If you're in sales, then you won't last long because once any self-respecting sales person gets to understand the company, products and territory, they leave very quickly.
Depends on the group/team you're in. In you stay at MicroFocus long enough you will likely have some former coworkers that have possible moved up in the company. I know of at least two previously from my team directly that have moved onto what I consider higher and/or more management level positions. The longer you stay, the more likely you'll have ties/connections to management/senior level people.
