Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Attrition a problem?

Someone said that layoffs aren't occurring because there is so much attrition going on that layoffs are not needed in a lot of areas.

I'd like to hear from those people who have left recently. I left a while ago after being screwed over.

What are your stories? Have lots of people left in certain areas?

I can't see why anyone would actually stay there.

Seeing expectations double, I expect further attrition to come very soon among ECAs. July 15th is coming.

If you are in the middle management watch out! Karma is coming

It's about time, but I'll wait until I see it.

Lots of people are leaving because they have not received a raise in over 3+ years. MS says its not because of money. ODC famous for promoting within but a lateral pay.

If you are a manager under MH, you are being squeezed out! Top level management spots are being filled by external hires, and at the same time a large number of junior, but successful, sales reps are being promoted to managerial spots. They are young, and ambitious. If you are in the middle management watch out! Karma is coming.

I left. What do you want to know? The management chain quality got so pi-s poor that it was clear that whoever would bend over for the manager above them got promoted. I couldn't handle reporting to these d-mb d-mb and I wasn't along. My whole team left. In 5-8 yrs when those higher ups get let go the chain will fall apart again. So is that the kind of place I want to invest my career in? Sorry. Not for me.

If you cannot bid on your customer, then bid on your own body. Yummy.

Are your customers been experiencing even longer delays in resolving SR’s?

My support staff are leaving in droves, and just try to find replacements with OCI knowledge! Even new hires jump ship! This is the soft underbelly

Having recently left, attrition is real and it’s not the scrubs leaving, it’s the good ones with plenty of IP and those who can’t get a job somewhere better are left behind. Oracle is where you go when you can’t get a better job.

Makes OCI seem like a terrible place where everyone looks out for the bully boss, and checks their wallet every five minutes

Attrition is a problem when you can’t keep your best people for whatever reason.

Attrition is helping Oracle avoid broader layoffs because so many people are leaving.

The question is that whether the brain drain is the low performers and unnecessary people (like on prem and apps unlimited folks) or newer cloud people.

OCI people hired three and four years ago are approaching in the coming weeks and months. MASSIVE cliff of compensation. Meaning the massive RSU packages they were given when hired have all vested.

If many of these peoples’ RSUs are not refreshed at the levels they were hired at (or above) expect a MASSIVE exodus this summer and fall as people look for stronger compensation elsewhere or go back to AWS or Azure.

This is no joke. I bet even the Ax-Man would agree with me. I’m speaking from the OCI trenches for the rank and file OCI Employee in Seattle.

Attrition is definitely not a problem. It helps increase shareholder value.
