Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Does anyone know why the new closing list is overdue?

It was expected by June 1 but so far nothing. What gives?

Because Eddie didn't pay SB360. Now EWG will be ripped off

Nobody “deserves” to know anything except Eddie himself. It’s a privately owned co. You’re just upset because YOU don’t know. He’ll close stores when he decides to close them. You really think he likes losing money. There’s a reason they haven’t closed yet.

What is with the House of Cards going on in Hoffman States. People deserve to know what is going on with this company. If stores are to close, it's better than everyone be informed. Not just the Fat Cats.

The guy who asks “is for Hamilton MT going closing?” Is an attention seeking troll. It’s not a genuine question. He’s just stirring the p-t.

I meant "there's a". I posted a correction, but I didn't see it so I'm reprinting it. Also, I meant, as of June 1, there "were", not there "are". I should have used past tense. My bad.

I realize there' a lot of joking and trolling here, and that's fine, LOL, but I'll just try to be serious for 1 Minute. I'm just sp-t-balling here, because I too, have no idea what is going on, but I must admit this is quite strange. As of June 1, there are zero closing stores. When did we last have zero closing stores? Again, I don't Know the answers, so I'm just thinking out loud here. If he wanted to close some more, wouldn't he have announced it by now? What exactly is he waiting for? The closing "lists" had become smaller and smaller, in 2021, until we got the last one, which was just 1 measly store.
The pace was moving nicely for a while, then stopped to a trickle, now nothing whatsoever. Very odd. Is he planning to just not close anymore?
It's interesting that when you go to https://www.sb360.com/select-projects/events/sears/

(that was the specific page for Sears closings), the URL just redirects to a generic SB360 page. Any mentions of Sears, or Kmart, have been completely scrubbed from the website. And when I contacted SB360 to ask if there would be any further closings, they replied that they have no connection to Sears. I wonder if their association with them has ended. Strange as it seems, Ed might just decide to keep these 40-50, some odd locations (plus several hundred Hometowns) open? Again, just thinking aloud here, I don't Know if this is the case or not.

But I do think, that if anything else was closing, he would have announced it by now. Why keep the liquidators idol, twiddling their thumbs? At least sell off a few goofily located ones like Hamilton Montana, or whatever to the liquidators, to at least Streamline operations to a few strategic remaining areas, such as East Coast, West Coast, Florida, whatever, instead of keeping meaningless random floaters like Hamilton MT, Marshall MI, etc..
And to the person who will invariably ask "Is for Hamilton MT is going closing?", for the 1000th Time, NO THEY ARE NOT "GOING CLOSING", or however you usually write it with your poor grammar. NO STORES OWNED BY THIS COMPANY ARE CURRENTLY LIQUIDATING.

But anyone have any ideas or theories as to what's going on here? I'm at a loss, myself.
Spitballing session concluded.

Following the recent pattern, they always seemed to close another round of stores just before the current round was finishing up. So yeah don't know what's going on.

There never was a closing list. Nothing was expected by June 1st. It’s all in your mind. Fake news. Stop trying to gaslight.

I agree, this post looks like the work of elevator dude. He loves passing false information confirming stores are closing when in fact they’re not. I just ignore his silly attempts to get people’s attention. What a loser!

Nothing to see here. A new round of closures will be produced when the powers that be make the decision to close more stores. Not before. Overdue? Since when do they follow a schedule?

Because the guy who decides which stores to close was laid off

“Finally right sized the company at 48 stores”. Don’t make me laugh. If you’ve been in a Sears recently, you can tell there is no intention of “right sizing” the company. The inventory is noticeably depleted. Vendors won’t deal with them anymore. Just give it up. They’re all going away relatively soon. It’s all just a matter of when.

Maybe there isn't one, and the company has finally 'right-sized' at 48 full-size stores?

On what authority did you know the closing list was due out June 1? Fake news.

He's going to time it out so the Christmas season helps move the inventory out.
