All the bickering here about work at home has been making me think long and hard about what is really the best for me and my family.
The biggest opponents seem to be random managers (one, many, a few, bunch?) That present their opposition.
The biggest proponent seems to be the one guy responsible for two posts that have received a bunch of attention recently (@OP+1bn0ThKs and @OP+1bnlyNJq), and probably more.
The other player is the Uncle Verizon guy. I'm really not sure what to make of him, but he claimed to be a manger, and indicated Verizon does not have our best interests in mind when it comes to WAH.
I really don't know if he was just trying to scare us, or if he was trying to warn us. As weird as he came across, I think he really had our best interests in mind. He couldn't come out and tell us, but he could hint, and he could act creepy and give us uneasy feelings.
When it comes down to it, my gut says we'll deeply regret working from home if we get it. Tomorrow, I'm going to call the union and tell them I want to stay in the office. I think we're and our families are more secure there in every way. I, for one, look forward to getting my laptop out of my home and off of my WiFi.

If you work from home, you should be able to be viewed remotely on camera at your work station/location. Either work from home on camera or report to your regular work location. Very fair compromise.p
Skilled and educated employees may work from home. Union members are like children and need a babysitter so back to the office!
@1pnt+1bpPPQqj Boomer got upset they lost the argument.
I don't intend to give you any information.
You're a liar, and any info you get can be used to deceive us further. If you don't know, I'm not giving you more ammo.
What type of dock are you using? What are you doing about VPN issues if you’re using WiFi? What’s the make and model of the laptop? Laptops come with cameras, can you use that for meetings? I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I’ve reached out to people in other centers and none have heard about laptops for call center reps. Also, earlier it was said it was given out to everyone in the call center, last comment said it was only some people. Can you clarify which one is true?
@1orc+1bpPPQqj What center are you in?
There were some laptops sent to my center. Not all got some and you don't seem to know that. So, from what I see, it's a sign you don't know what's going on in the centers. Just another reason to think you're trying to lead us down a wrong path, and can't be trusted.
No bickering needed. Union people need to get back to the office because they can't be trusted. Everyone else can work from home.
Problem is the op would have been believable if he didn’t make that one mistake about the laptop. It 100% shows where he comes from.
The work from home group has been consistent with their argument, sticking to their g-ns. The conspiracy posts are all done by the same person, with the same grammar, while pretending to be different people. It’s just like the bots from the other posts, fake and pushing a narrative.
“Im a rep and need viagra, can’t wait to go back to the office. Thanks ( whichever union they are against at the moment)”.
We work together for a better tomorrow. That’s why we’re unionized. I’m on the work from home side, but we can’t let this get weird as it obviously has become. These business agents, stewards, and the rest of the union officials work hard to make sure we keep our jobs. I believe the union can make this work, while ensuring our jobs for the future. Obviously there’s a minority that don’t believe in work from home, I’m ok with them having an opinion. I’m not ok with them making this about themselves, lying to get their points across, making conspiracies and such. If we go back to an office, remember who they are, i guarantee they’ll be the same ones who will cross the picket line.
This has to be the most obnoxious and absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Uncle Verizon, secret meanings behind posts, cheerleaders who are double agents, etc, etc. What am I even reading here? Get a life and stop interfering with ours.
Between Uncle Verizon, The Lying Union Cheerleader, and the union originally opposing WAH, I called the union to tell them I now do not support WAH.
And in re-reading the Cheerleader's posts below, he still ignores even the possibility of the problems of working from home. No matter what character he's using, he sounds over the top desperate to keep us snowed. Whether he works for VZ or he has some other motive, it certainly isn't in our best interests.
They're negotiating because WE pressured them. The didn't want to at first. There's a reason for that. I trust them to take care of these things for us. I don't think we should stop now.
The union IS negotiating work from home! We DO trust the union! It’s you who keeps posting that union ISNT negotiating! Here’s the link again, hopefully you read it this time. I trust the union because they’ve literally announced it on their website. https://ibew2321.org/additional-work-at-home-agreement-info/
We trust the union with negotiating our pay and benefits. Why wouldn't we trust them about work from home? They must have opposed it for a reason.
I'm beginning to think this guy is a Verizon plant too.
We also have a right to negotiate that work from home becomes permanent.
It's time to get back to the office , be happy you were allowed to stay home this long . And no vaccine is ok cause it is a personal choice . If you feel you are in danger you have the right not to show up and find a new job .
@fdp+1bpPPQqj The computer exposes the op as a fraud, not the guy calling it out. When you find the ho-e in the statement, widen it so everyone can see.
Maybe people don’t see the downside because their life turned for the better?
Also, there’s no players here, just a bunch of hurt people who don’t want to go back to an office and a minority who keep posting about ‘uncle Verizon’. The union is far from perfect, mistakes have been made on their part. Pension, medical, some offices are 37.5 hours without a pay increase, etc, etc.
History has shown that once we give back we’ll never see it again. I, for one, don’t want to give back anymore. I’m tired of everything that was good keeps getting taken away. Will I leave if we go back to an office….maybe. Will I remember that some in the union didn’t try to make this work? Definitely!
Yeah, just look at this thread. He's losing his cr@p about the computers. He's trying to keep focused on that because he's being exposed as a fraud.
And, the crazy down votes on the OP... 40+... When does that happen? When he doesn't like the post.
The one thing that never clicked with me is that the union cheerleader was exactly that. A cheerleader. He's so gung ho about WAH. He never even acknowledged there was a downside. Even when Uncle Verizon brought it up. It's like he was trying to distract us from it. He only focused on the benefits to us... Just what the company would want us focused on. I kinda wonder now if he's on Verizon's payroll. It's obvious he's a liar and a deceiver (see the posts referenced in the OP). He poses as different people all the time, and he's constantly messing with the votes... As if it's not obvious and suspicious.
I'm thinking Uncle Verizon is the one truly looking out for us.
It’s another troll post. Don’t feed the troll under the bridge, you’ll only make him angrier.
No, because we got the brand new desktop like every other center.
Obviously, you didn't even hear about the refurbished laptops.
Hmmm... I guess not every center got them.
That's interesting.
Enough about your partner OP. TMI!
Hahaha, got caught real quick. How’s some clown going to come on here and just plain lie.
This whole time I thought only managers got laptops!! Nice try buddy!
