Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Unemployment?

Have any of y’all quit or been fired and still rec’d unemployment?

I have a little bit in savings, but I honestly don’t know if I can hold out doing this job much longer.

Does anyone have experience with UI claims? I know it varies state-to-state, but just curious if Verizon fights UI claims regularly?

I have seen it negotiated as an exit. If you’re not a great employee and they want you gone, I have seen HR tell an employee they wouldn’t contest UI if the employee quit. So they did. And successfully collected until they found a new job. This was August 2020

It’s best to just retire in place.. It’s not a bad living really. Just stay all wokey in this new Marxist sympathizing corporation.

Not sure why you would need UI. Everywhere I look there is a help wanted sign. If working here is too hard for you find something you enjoy, life is too short to be miserable. Good Luck

Even if it’s contested you will still have a mediation session. Only the mediator will decide if you get Unemployment or not. Just speak to your mental health and the mismanagement of Verizon leadership.

@kzf+1buCdXjB I know a handful of people that quit their jobs due to COVID and still got UI. You always apply for UI no matter what, OP.

If you quit, there is no UI….and yes they will contest it.
