Hey fellas, so I just got hired in the mechanical dept. at 21 years old. I really don’t understand why everyone is so upset with NS... they told me in my hiring session that as long as there is a railroad, I will always have a job. Everyone was so nice. I can’t wait to get to McDonough!

95% of the college kids that went through the 2016 July MT hiring class already quit.
Wine and dine was nice, getting thrown to wacky off shift schedules was not sustainable.
The smart kids left (pharmaceutical mfg for the win) the struggle bus folks stayed behind.
If you have any ounce of ambition and family life, your NS days are numbered.

Yes you are right., the people here are all so nice. I work with a bunch of quire boys who would never ever think of stabbing you in the back or stepping over your lifeless body to get better rest days.And the company loves the idea of paying you every couple weeks out of the profits that they really want to hand out as bonuses to the A suite parasites
