Thread regarding Follett layoffs

They still won't change the way they treat people?

Maybe it would be good business for Follett to treat their current employees better since they are struggling so much to hire people

That should happen. However, I doubt very much that they will change the way they treat existing employees who generally work much more than in their job description. Why? Unfortunately, because they think that they treat us well and that we exist only to work for them.

It is cheaper to simplify structure of field operations and more importantly simplify the roles of those who are present there in that way they are very easy to replace and have limited lifespan that can be utilized to its fullest I am reminded of an Amazon facility where Amazon made the calculations and decided it would be cheaper to have EMT units parked out front on standby for employees who passed out as a result of heat exhaustion then it was to retrofit the building with adequate air conditioning this is the same kind of arithmetic. Plus you don't have to pay any of the people insurance or other pesky expenses leaving more for the people at the top
