That’s BNYM managers, these insecure leaders are too scared to take their team advise, this is then becomes a “it’s “my way or the highway”. Good luck those are still with the firm.

I've learned not to care too much. My group has decreased by 40% in staffing within the last year (10 down to 6 total team members), although that might not be accurate as some of our slack has been "taken up" by India. Of the 4 people that split, 2 that we know of got a different--and better--job than what they had at BNY. The other 2 left mysteriously (they were here on a Friday but come Monday they weren't logged-in for work...and there was no communication from above why they left, either).
I'm part of a team-within-a-team...and we've gained a reputation of being a group that no-one in their right minds wants to work on because the 2 people running the team are a bunch of an-l-retentive officious a-holes who seem to live for doing this nit-picking micro-managing BS work.
I suppose it's important that someone "cares" about the work they are doing... But excuse me if I don't when you expect me to go the extra mile and jump through hoops to do it...and then every year you give me a friggin' humiliating 1% salary increase and actually expect me to CARE!
They will hate you, mock you and beat you with experience if you have ideas better than them. This is narcissism and a 17th century traditional way of doing business.
