Does anyone know if unemployment benefits are available when your commute increases 100 miles a day?

Hood is the genius who thinks we need collaboration centers in India as if it's 1990 and we all need to be sitting next to each other to collaborate. We really need to get rid of these old boomers who think they are leaders. And that includes the whole EC and most of the BOD
Just wait until they give word that Oriskany is closing too...
Agreed @bkh, they are closing offices because they are too genius lol. They are offshoring jobs to India. Since the merger of tech and ops, Hood Qaim-Maqami who is originally from tech is now India tech-ops section leader. He is doing a great job facilitating the EC offshoring of American jobs to Pune and Chenai. Maybe he keeps succeeding until the entire EC is offshored to India, and maybe someone in Pune takes Gibbons job, and maybe then he realizes how it feels to ship American jobs overseas lol
What makes you think anyone relocated during the pandemic, @buv. Heck, you couldn't even rent a uhaul most of the time. I'm sure they're asking because our genius leaders forgot about 9/11 and hurricanes and decided to close the very productive Syracuse office and think people are going to drive an extra 100 miles a day to Oriskany. But at least we're paying extra for renewable electricity!
If the reason why your commute is over 100 miles a day is because you relocated while working remotely, then I don’t think you are eligible.
What state?
Section 593(2)(c) of the NYS unemployment law states that you are eligible for benefits if:
The employment is at an unreasonable distance from his residence, or travel to and from the place of employment involves expense substantially greater than that required in his former employment unless the expense be provided for.
There is precedent which determines a 1.5 hour commute each way is reasonable but but I would think an extra 15k miles per year on a vehicle would be an "expense substantially greater".
