Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Safety First

I work at ExxonMobil currently and it is 100% a joke. What was once my dream job, is the worst/stupidest environment ever.

No one wears masks at all and the stupid Skype message from the campus today said “make personal risk decisions regarding wearing a mask”….. This is from a the same du----s company that makes us hold handrails cause they think their employees are id--ts and can’t walk up a flight of stairs. THE SAME COMPANY that makes everyone use lids on cups because of spills and hot drinks, CAUSE THEY DONT THINK WE CAN HOLD A DAMN CUP.

If anyone says anything to me about safety or comments on me talking on the phone while walking, making me hold those dirty a-s handrails, or use a lid for my freaking cups, I will EXPLODE on them.

Fu-k EXXONMOBIL.

Lots of things wrong with XOM, but I’ve never seen any incidents hidden or anything other than 100% integrity as far as incident reporting or investigation. I’m sure it happens, but I do not see a corporate wide problem.

Years of XTO SSHE experience.

I, and many others, have seen management hide incidents at business units for years. The most common method was to make sure the incident happened “after working hours” (think offshore platforms here)

Safety my bu-t. Several incidents have occurred at an exxon site. The individuals that perpetrated the acts were not PIPed or even sent home. People were PIPED at this site for not engaging or communicating. The management covered the incidents up and buried them. PIP the lazy sc--w offs and unsafe workers. We were told they learned from their mistakes. I have never blown anything up or set off alarms. Neither did the PIPed persons as well. Insanity.

Don't forget to apply lip balm after every episode of kissing rears. An unwritten safety rule, but much appreciated by management.

What a pu$$y! Wear a mask if you wish; wear a face shield or a self-contained air hood. No one cares, just stop trying to control others.

Surely you do not believe it’s only EMRE? Consultants are certainly laughing. They have been paid substantial amounts of money because the so called best and brightest cannot do their own jobs. They have succeeded in some of the worse ideas in the company’s history. If the company is losing money yet has to pay overpriced consultants with lame ideas to come in and do more damage than anything then NSI should have started at the top. Obviously our leaders are worthless and can’t do their jobs.

@vwc - Oh my God - those “EMRE Behaviours” playing cards ! You’re right - what a joke. Did you have to attend one of those brainwashing presentations that talked about the “EMRE Journey” (Jeez, they certainly went to that one many times) and portraying EMRE as a house which was built on these “behaviours” ? What a load of BS !

Also, do you recall the list of EMRE managers’ (they called themselves “leaders”) “Bold Commitments” ? Commitments which included 360 degree feedback (which never happened). Instead, they appointed members of regular staff to rat on their colleagues, by telling the VP’s what the “shop floor” was thinking. I grew to hate that effing company.

I knew this company was bs on day 3 when I was handed a deck of cards with EMRE behaviors (some stupid idea managment shelled out loads of money to a consulting company for) on them. Surprise surprise when 2 years later the behaviors were replaced by some other cr-p management paid another crapton to consultants come up with. These consulting companies are laughing at us hard

Hope you had chicken pox. My advice is to wear a mask regardless of what our colleagues are doing.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/29/politics/cdc-masks-covid-19-infections/index.html

Washington (CNN)The Delta coronavirus variant surging across the US appears to cause more severe illness and spreads as easily as chickenpox, according to an internal document from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The document -- a slide presentation -- outlines unpublished data that shows fully vaccinated people might spread the Delta variant at the same rate as unvaccinated people.

A federal health official told the newspaper that the data, which is expected to be released Friday, played a large role in the CDC's updated mask guidance, which recommends that fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors when in areas with "substantial" and "high" transmission.

Hey take it easy my friend.

If we don’t talk about holding handrails, actively caring, and safety etc., what else would our Pune University, Anna University, ICT, OSU, KSU, Texas Tech, and MSU employees do?

All should go find and hard slap every supervisor and manager from the past 10 years who was touting holding handrails.

These dirty dirtbags deserve hard slaps on their faces and kicks and a boot out of society. A-s holes were so joyous in their fraud leadership. Slap them hard in the campus green.
