Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Trying to stay relevant

Since online shopping has become the new norm, how many think Macy's has what it takes to remain in the forefront as more stores close over the next few years? I'm well aware this is not just our issue. It would be interesting to see how our competitors fare in comparison as well.

Bricks or clicks, Macys still has to offer something that customers want to buy. There is currently no differentiation aside from middling prices and no service. So no, Macys days are numbered as the same merchandising practice regardless of stores vs dcs.

Macy’s future whether they realize it or not this is what’s coming: Closing majority of stores and convert certain ones into distribution. Stores with multi floor will have one floor as a “show room” while the rest of the space is fulfillment / stock / my stylist personal stylists because no matter what fashion changes and people always like the look good. Our in store pick up something massive we should build around, it’s something Amazon as of right now doesn’t offer. Say you have a wedding to go to and that suit that’s been in your closet isn’t fitting because you’ve been working from home during Covid and gained some poundage. Well guess what go shop on Macy’s.com and have in store pick up that day. Day is saved. The average man has like 2-3 pairs of jeans maybe 1-2 suits. Let’s make that money $$$$&
