Being surrounded by decent people - both managers and coworkers - can mean the difference between hating your job and still enjoying coming to work despite the many issues with the company. I have transferred within the company recently and the work environment between the two teams is drastically different. It turns out I can still enjoy my job if I don't have to bu-t heads with my manager on a daily basis nor constantly watch my back when it comes to my coworkers. This was the best possible move I could have made.
