It’s been over a month since we were told that were going back to the office September 14th. In the email, Pete said to expect communication from your local office….
We have heard exactly NOTHING. No idea what this looks like for us. This is going to be a fiasco. We’ve asked management for answers, and they haven’t been given anything either. Everyone’s too afraid to shoot it up the ladder for fear of retaliation.
Anyone else seeing something different?
Oh my gosh. So today I went in and it was crazy. I get to my desk and I find out I now share it with two other people. Instead of a fat man chair it’s a fat man stool. Three of us have to share the stool, back to back, and then swivel around to work at the computer. There’s only one computer now due future efficiencies that will soon be created by the AI team as part of AIG200, but for now, we’re working in 20 minute intervals. Both of my stool mates have neck pain so when I wasn’t working, I had to listen to one of them talk about their neck pain, and when I was working, I had to listen to them try to one up each other about who has the worst neck pain. As you can imagine I have not gotten a lot of work done today, but I’m hoping next week will go better.
We have to "reserve" a desk? Is this a joke? We don't feel at all safe going into the office to begin with and now they're wanting us to spend time making a reservation for a desk?? We will all be sitting at a long table sm--k next to each other with no guarantee that the individual next to you has been vaccinated. It will be difficult to even think straight as we'll be forced to contend with everyone else speaking at the same time w/out cubicle walls to buffer the noise. No privacy either...
Charlotte got a fairly vague email but it didn’t include any expectations on how many days you need to come in or capacity allowed (100%, 50%, etc). Besides those in offices, the rest of us have no dedicated desk space and have to use the reservation system to reserve a desk. There are indoor mask mandates in Charlotte so you have to wear a mask in the office. Most are not inclined to go in and sit in online meetings with a mask on. There was some stupid guidance about keeping a journal of everyone you come into contact so that if a person self reports Covid, you can determine if you have been in contact. Stupid as you take a shared elevator with the other tenants of the building to get to the floor so are you going to take their names and track their Covid status?!

Taken the course on the learning site on going in to the office. It was sent out when people wanted to pick up stuff.

Your boss probably screwed up and got your team scheduled to come in on mondays or fridays, and so now they’re pretending like they “haven’t heard anything” so your team doesn’t get mad. Sounds like a classic manager move to me.
