Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

PCG

I see a lot of people jumping ship from PCG. Is something about to happen and these folks are just getting out by themselves in advance?

Did anyone see these claim sourcing jobs posted—are they buying tpa’s or looking for TPA’s to contract with?

TPAs are coming ...

Resignations are happening across the board - Claims, Ops, IT, ...even HR (yes, they're underpaid!),

Chubb, Cincinnati, Marsh, QBE. Hire friends from all of the competition, but never, ever promote from within unless it is a very low pay grade position that their friends do not want. Yes, that is why people are leaving.

They are bringing their buddies from Chubb over. The ones that were not making it over there. All of the senior underwriters hired from Chubb are responsible for the demise of AIG. I wonder if they are getting kick backs from Chubb to destroy AIG??

Please fire me already. I am ready to be downsized and am tired of the threat looming over me even as I outperform others at my pay grade and job title.

Any good job in PCG is all pre-determined hiring before it is posted. Every exec, vp and manager plays favorites, protecting their favorites and overloading their least favorites in hopes they’ll quit before the upcoming mandatory cuts.

A couple vp’s recently left because they weren’t in the new club and weren’t even discussed for the pres role. Some loud harumphing was heard.

At least the new guy in charge isn’t a drunk.

If you work on the claims side brush up your resume. TPAs are the way of the future and they get your bene’s off the books.

Slightly off topic but worth a mention.....only been at PCG a short while. The funniest, most surreal thing I have ever seen at any major corporation happened at AIG.

We attended a virtual meeting on diversity and inclusion. Sounds great right? The speaking panel was comprised of 4 white executives and 1 black executive. We sat and listened to 4 white executives tell us how black people feel.

It was honestly like watching a skit on Saturday Night Live.....probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever experienced in my life. I laughed out loud and had to shut off my camera.

Most employees I know at PCG don't even consider internal promotion as an option so it is really just a waiting game. When another opportunity comes they take it.

The only viable opportunities in PCG are for white women. This fills the "diversity" quota without actually hiring people of color. If you are a white female at PCG you have potential. Other positions are mostly reserved for friends from other companies.

New senior mgmt over pcg in the last year. Maybe that’s why. Or some other company is hiring big time?

That's the way it goes, 'round & 'round.
Just like the government, anyway. Such a damn shame!

Any significant position in PCG is filled before it ever gets posted. The interview process is a formality to fill HR quotas for how how many diverse candidates they have to interview. Then, when it is all finished they hire the predetermine friend to fill the roll in question. It is a fairly well known scam at PCG.

Not sure about the rest of AIG.

PCG claims has been gutted by recent demotions and resignations in management and in the field. PCG IT was let go with the rest of the IT staff in July.

PCG is just like the rest of AIG. The seasoned staff are being ushered out to bring in friends of upper management. Most people have just had enough of the favoritism and lack of opportunity for those who aren't the "in crowd".

Not many reasons to stick around if a decent opportunity arises so people are jumping ship. Can you blame them?

Really? I haven't seen a thing. I don't beleive this website would allow you to add names but any info you have on the role and region where you've seen resignations would be interesting
