Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

WFM seems to be the last option for a job search

I'm just wondering how many people have been hired here lately.

Is it true that the response to the open positions is terribly small? I wouldn’t be surprised if an embarrassingly small number of people apply.

What if this continues into the future and a very small/ insufficient number of applicants applies while the current employees continue to leave?

i think amazon overlords are going to let wholefoods wither on the vine...what kind of corporate linguistics would they use here--- company growth attrition??? all the while they have studied what they need to study and put more money and development into the amazon go and fresh stores...different labor model and more data being served...i bet we see less and less wholefoods stores in development over the next decade...vestigial like your appendix for the corporate overlord....

Let’s think about what’s happening…
What if WF eventually, slowly just disappears? Mr Bezos has gotten the information that he wanted in order to run grocery stores the way HE wants. AmazonGo stores are popping up all over… and suspiciously close to WF locations.
Why keep a dysfunctional business, like WF, when you’ve can operate stores with just a fraction of the employees it takes to run a WF store?
Will WF even be around in 10 years?
I see WF stores being used to run the online grocery shopping side of Amazon.

Whole foods will be in a hurt of trouble this holiday season I hate to see the team members toughing it out hoping it turns around since they have way too many service hours since wfm and amazon rather loose long timers with experience so they can run business the way they want to but it’s own incompetence from regional and global will be it’s undoing . We just laugh at the field associates visits they are delusional and out of touch with reality all walk feed back is shared with the rest of the store and tl’s push to please them but they are all overworked and depressed due to staffing and staffing guidance.
Regional and global always advice their executives not to listen and push but that alone is what wfm needs to self destruct. The regional and global executives that stay is only because we don’t dr-g test and this is their only option but lack the skills.

Then all plans of In-stock and SOP's working will fail. Leadership will get held accountable until they quit or get fired. New replacements will be hired cheaper and forced to do more work just to barley keep the store functioning. Leadership is already quitting or stepping down in droves.
