My son was recently “hired” and scammed out of $5000. The people in touch with him were all on LinkedIn as employees of this company.
We can not reach EVOLENT HEALTH. Are they are real company? This is such an elaborate scam it seems hard to conceive. We all did research and they seemed to be a real company.

Snarky comments are NOT WELCOME. No one has any idea how difficult this situation has been. It’s easy to say oh yuh RED FLAGS. I defy you to delve into this company and find the worm ho-e. Any way. Supportive comments thank you. If they are a real company Smart Guy get me a contact number. Or check them out on LinkedIn. And whoever posted about their daughter… be careful. We all did research and couldn’t find the glitch.
Insist on a Zoom call. NOT text or messaging.
It is 100% a scam, but there is literally nothing elaborate about it. They will only interview you via text or chat, never video or voice - do you think you’ll be hired for a $100k+ job without a true and traditional face to face (or on video) interview? And they are advertising jobs at 2, 3 and 4 times the going salary rate for these positions. If that’s not a red flag for you, perhaps I can interest you in buying a bridge from me? It’s in Brooklyn.
Am being scammed
I also was almost a victim but I caught on really quickly thankfully and alerted but the company and the local authorities and the perpetrators have been apprehended and will be brought to book for this. Always ensure to report such cases as soon as you get wind of such in future events. From the information I received following my report the cyber attackers got access to their applicant database due to a server breach with their job board which has now been taken care of so they will pay for their crimes to the fullest extent, this is most certain now happily.
was this all through text messaging the interview? my daughter may be having this happen to her.
It's definitely a real company. But the person who did the scamming... they may not have anything at all to do with the company. This sort of thing usually comes down to an expensive life lesson. You don't have to pay anything to get a job. They pay you. It's kinda the whole point. I mean... some companies may require you to have special tools, shoes, protective gear, etc... that they don't provide... but requiring you to give them, or anyone else money? That's always a scam.
Get a lawyer or go to the media and expose the scam, don't let them get away with it.
