Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Nepotism = lose-lose situation

If anything has been frustrating me here lately, then it’s nepotism. It's affecting both, the company and the employees.

The company loses because people are in positions that far exceed their capabilities. On the other hand, employees also lose because they are wasting their time here.

How many times have you seen an example of nepotism here?

Like my father told me, and I told my son… “I got you this job, don’t embarrass me, treat the little people well and they’ll help you out”
And our family have been managers since 1948.

So sc--w you! Nepotism is fine because we say so, and one of us is probably your boss. Now Go back to work and stop thinking about things

Verizon wireless (especially) is known as a "Relationship Company" it does not matter if you are qualified or not for the next level just have your connections help you out and sc--w the others that deserving and qualified.

It's been like that since beginning of time and prevalent in every workplace - private and public. Look at all the politicians who are related to each other. Even in families there is favoritism. The very smart and capable will go off and start their own companies.
