Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

I care to keep my job here

Someone might say I'm a cheerleader, but I'm not. It's just that before I came here I worked in a company where working conditions are much worse. For now, I would like to keep my job here and I try to be a good performer. However, despite all the attempts to be a better performer, it’s never enough... Does Schwaab demand too much from its employees?

I speak from experience but there were many days I did not have enough work to do. I’ve heard that around the org too. There was always this push to hire more people. I found it silly when there are plenty of people w not enough to do

In a way to me, it feels like they expect too much because there are not enough FTEs. When there are not enough of us to do the work they expect, that is the result. "Do more with less", results in over worked people that gloss over daily work because they can't afford to go deeper and do a perfect job. It also makes mistakes happen because they are pushing for speed and then demanding 100% quality. The only way you get it done is to work longer and longer. Then you get a company memo about how they support a balanced home and work life.

No, not at all. I have been here at Schwab for a while. I barely do anything, but I talk the talk, and can walk the walk. A lot of it is about perception and image. It's not what you know, it's what you can sell. Sometimes its how you sell it. If don't have have it, you can't flaunt it. But if flaunt it, you better have something underneath.
