Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

I am disappointed by the lack of support for professional growth

This is something that has been bothering me here lately:

So I reached into my pocket and covered the cost of seminars, online classes, and other learning initiatives sponsored by my professional association. And I covered the cost of my professional re-certification. Only to later hear my Ascension supervisor and certain colleagues mock my efforts to stay current with industry training.

I totally understand, @1hhk+1cFTHt2I. I pay for training myself, too. Is there anyone satisfied with this company's support for your professional growth?

I'm disappointed in the direction Ascension is headed but they did actually re-reimburse me for professional certification. Granted this was after I got notice I was getting laid off.

The new employment model is pay as you go. If they can contract your position out to the lowest bidder, they will. And this is only until they can AI it. Research Ascension and follow the money. Follow the money.

Is this on the health or technology side? When I was there up until this year, they were heavy into paying for certifications and online training.
