Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

When is the next round of layoffs?

Anyone know when the next round of layoffs is happening? The rumor was that Eagan would have 3 rounds of layoffs this year. We've already had one... which means two more before the end of the year?

Historically it has been around the week leading up to Thanksgiving however they could get you in October or even in December just to ruin your Christmas and New Year’s celebration.

@1laa+1cKj5YlV - It's a good question to ask. We'll see them more frequently as part of the "Change" program. "Change" is their code word for "we're laying you off, you have to train your replacement, and if you get a new job, we aren't going to pay your full severance."

We've never had layoffs so early in the year and we've never had 3 rounds of layoffs. That is why I asked the question.

I'm surprised people are asking this question. Really? Every year we have layoffs. Why should this year be any different? Got to keep those shareholder pockets filling with cash and management has to be seen to be doing something "constructive". Expect to hear things around mid-October so that Thanksgiving is ruined for many and it helps the books by year end.

November? I heard some rumors about November but don't quote me on this.

New CIO is bringing not one but two consulting firms to help "figure out" what they should be doing. Expect cuts to be part of whatever comes out of that.

It’s got to be coming soon with all of this digital transformation cr-p that’s happening. Those in the ivory tower feel less pawns are needed and can be replaced with technology. Time will tell.
