News breaks today that as an effort to "recognize our incredible work" WFM team members will receive additional one-time bonus of $2 to $3 per hour worked between 10/4/21 and 1/2/22.
Hate to break it to you, but this is not a gift. This is a payoff in hopes people stop jumping ship before the holiday.
If the company cared about its workers, it would be a wage increase, period. This is only to ensure that the company isn't sc--w ed for the holiday season. It has nothing to do with a thank you or appreciation for the worker.
Not to mention, if they issue it as a lump sum at the end of the year, what is it taxed at?
This is even scummier than the double time increase.
Try again, WFM.
