You used to be able to count on being promoted if you knew what you were doing and you worked hard. Now the only thing that's required to get a promotion is to get into the good graces of somebody in the management. Basically, brown-nosing is now held in higher regard than merit. I have no plans on staying at the company where that is true.

When SS&C came on the scene, this company went down the drain. No ethics, no integrity, no compassion…systems are horrible…never work…no training…you are just a number and they will let you go in a millisecond (unless you suck up to someone with some clout!)
Hate the game not the player
Completely agree. No investment, failed offshoring with clueless staff that can't think or even follow a script, no pay rise unless you leave, salaries tens of thousands behind market rate, antiquated systems in breach of all client contracts, no maintenance of anything until it fails or clients notice and sucking up to management for no reward mandatory or you are out. SS&C stands for Slowly Suffocate and Conquer. Just short term perceived gain and stock price manipulation fraud with no regard for destroying the company in the long run. The UK SS&C presence will cease to exist once the US think there is an offshore manager cheaper capable of licking their boots better than the UK
