Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

The biggest reason to leave?

Is it possible to list just one reason why people are leaving or intend to leave here?

I am satisfied with the pay, I have colleagues who are very good people and I don't think the atmosphere is particularly toxic, I can't lie that I have a lot more stress than anyone else at Ascension, but personally I like the business ethics of this company less and less. That’s my biggest reason for leaving.

How about this: ever know someone that's always been cool with you but treats someone (or maybe everyone) else like sh-t? They're an as----e, but your always like: "They've always been nice to ME!"

There's your reason.

I really never experienced any toxicity in my career with them

So much nonsense. Yes, the workplace is toxic. Ascension doesn’t even budget for certain concrete and obvious needs. By ignoring those needs, the toxicity lives on. Ignoring budgetary needs puts pressure on lower-level employees to fund business operations themselves much like what you see in schools — where teachers reach into their own pockets to buy supplies for their students. Meanwhile, employees must endure ongoing “leadership summits” where the lack-of-leadership does the “blah, blah, blah” dance about how “innovative” they are. It’s all so laughably hypocritical and stupid. Separating from Ascension turned out to be a huge plus for me. Even though I worked in IT, I couldn’t believe how stupidly the IT division behaved. Pure ignorance in Missouri and Indiana.
