@1clc - CSR (or “One Research”) are Clinton’s biggest, most useless drain on the company. To a large extent, the other functions (e.g. Pilot Plant, ASL, PPLE) exist just to service their needs.

However there are many useless groups in the Fuels and Lubes organizations. The Electric Vehicle Group is a good example - a bunch of clueless “researchers” who couldn’t find their behinds with a map, a flashlight and a mirror - all just testing Chemicals’ fluids for electrical properties and taking the dye out of existing 3rd party transmission fluid formulations.

The Applied Sciences group is the worst though - with an arrogant, self-promoting, back-stabbing leader who has no understanding of management or science - desperately trying to keep the “modelling” initiative alive, years after other companies gave up.

@Oil Father

High commodities prices are pressuring Chemicals prices? Are you talking about the same chemicals that just set a quarterly earnings record due to record high margins?

There are some weird folks in here that love to talk down chemicals and say we’re selling them off. They’re the only ones that made money through the whole pandemic.

Combining F&L with chemicals is a great move to hide the refining losses with a profitable business.

You fellas do not know how bad parts of UIS are. Special acknowledgement goes to RTD, formerly known as URC and Common Skills Centre. Unbelievably corrupt employees and management here. All that a $200k+ salary gives is bulleted frivolous power points, and bunch of ash holes vying to make as many international business trips possible as they could in a year on investors dime.

@CSR give credit to other departments. PPLE, E&PS, Pilot, Lubes, PTD, and ASL have their fair share of useless people

Unfortunately the god awful CSR in Clinton, New Jersey and it’s horrible researchers, section heads, lab directors, manager and VP will be merged with other sane parts of the corporation. It is a total and complete disaster for everyone to absorb such cancerous non productive workers. Mark these id--ts for all future layoff opportunities. Never forget and show the wrath

Reorganize! Synergize! Strategize! Maybe even proselytize!

It’s not the fact that volumes are the same as last century, or that downstream can’t make money, or that high commodities prices are pressuring chemical margins. It’s that we need another reorg to solve our problems!

“I’m shocked” - said nobody

CS&I has multiple tracks. Two of them that I’m aware consolidating manufacturing into same organization. Similar to what happened between R&S and Lubes. This time it will be refining and chemicals. Next track is Single Research, Engineering and Technology company’. Will be combination of EMRE, UIS and chem tech

Managers can’t say because then everyone will realize they know as much as them. Pahaa

I think it is for Research and Development only. EMRE and ChemTech.

No layoffs planned AT THIS TIME.

Next step: harmonize pay scales of upstream to be more like those in downstream .

We remain committed to our cost cutting strategy by finding synergies to add value.
