Has anyone gotten a medical accommodation approved?

I am immunocompromised due to medication and am considered high risk for severe covid (even vaccinated) and don’t go anywhere indoors. I don’t see family indoors, even vaccinated/masked. Has anyone gone through the medical accommodations team and been approved and can tell me what to expect? Two of my doctors support providing whatever is needed to remain working at home.

A team mate is having personnel pushback hard, questioning the doctors recommendation. They must get incentive paid on denials.

You shouldn't have any issue getting an accommodation based on your situation, but they may only give you a 30 day extension. This would mean you'd have to make a new medical waiver case every month to stay in a WFH posture. I think they are working on some formal policies now around special exemptions for immunocompromised or employees with young children, but it is limited to a 30 day exemption.

Regardless of what BoA says or how they behave or respond to you in this matter, if you have a legit medical or religious exemption you do have further recourse. Since there are alternative measures to getting vaccinated (whether remaining working from home, weekly testing, or even for some people just waiting for the next vaccine which is a few months away - Novavax), you could have yourself a nice little lawsuit and have lots of other employees jump on board for a larger one. Even vaccinated people currently in the office might have some reason to jump on it if they can show dangers in the office while reasonable alternative accommodation would have resolved their issues (staying at home until end of year, etc...). I would suggest you contact an attorney before making any major decision one way or the other if they reject your request. Probably one who specializes in Constitutional Law.
