Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

This place is beyond redemption

I'd advise everybody to start looking for a new job and leave as soon as they can. There is no winning here. Before I'd usually advise everybody to not make any rash decisions and wait for a possible severance, but now staying means risking our lives. No, thank you. It's time to leave.

@ycs+1cWR4REZ You are correct in that mortality rates are low if you are in good health with no pre-existing conditions, but there are many many documented cases of young healthy people dying. I believe the first confirmed COVID fatality in Italy was a marathon runner... it is very unpredictable. I suppose many would argue that life is full of risks, etc. etc. It's all about your personal risk aversion, anyone could die in a car accident but wearing a seatbelt significantly lowers the risk, vaccines are no different.

Even if you don't die or aren't hospitalized, you could still get long COVID. Friend of mine I used to run with developed long COVID and he went from marathon training to walking months after being infected because his cardio endurance sank like a rock.

I'm honestly not afraid of the big C. If you're not overweight, the odds are heavily in your favor. Like, really really heavily -- you're pretty much not going to be ok. Healthy 35 year old lives 99.999% of the time.

I don't even mind going back to the office.

Won't be getting the vax though, so I'm more afraid of that whole can of worms.

Oh, by the way -- anyone else remember the CNN videos that were coming out at the start of all this? People laying in the streets, armies of hazmat suits chasing people down and putting them in vans, abduction style? Yeah, some good propaganda huh.

So yeah I'm more afraid of layoff due to the mandate.
