Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Cenovus is Hiring Process Engineers

In January Cenovus layed off Husky Process Engineers.

Today they posted a position for Sr. Process Engineer.

What visionaries !!!

Once upon a time, nobody understood what the word COVID meant either.
Seems like it might have had a little bit to do with the way businesses changed. I don't know maybe I'm wrong.

Most people at CVE do not really understand what the term "Process Engineer" means or what the qualifications/abilities are. I am sure other companies may be the same.

Lots of Process Engineers at CVE, but few have the abilities of a real Process Engineer, they would last less than a week in the EPC world.

My apologies if this bruises any egos.

just need to get rid of the others to make room for the budget to hire that one.

They probably already have someone in mind for the job even before laying off the other Engineers. They will then post an opening because that is a company policy. Then go through the whole application and interviewing process with 3 or 4 applicants, etc. before hiring the person that was meant to do the job the whole time. That happens a lot.
