I agree with you that some WFH employees take advantage of the situation, what they do I have no idea. My manager sent a scathing last week to the team because of the team's performance. Stats are going to be pulled showing how long they worked on a case, how long between hitting get next for the next case to be worked and reviewed, We have a minimum waterline expectation to meet. Those who are shirking should be sternly talked to and disciplined. Remember the bank's favorite phrase "up to add including termination." I'm not stating anyone should get fired yet. I've kept my numbers up. I have proven I can work from home responsibly and productively from home. Let me stay at home, bring the non performers in the office so they can be watched. I have had many long discussions with my wife about RTO. We are both very high risk she more than me, Delta has too many break through cases and Lambda is coming is going to be as bad if not worse. I'll work for the bank as long as I can but I am not returning to the office period. The bank will lose an almost 20 year employee with almost 12 in my department. Than is a lot of institutional knowledge that will walk out the door.

Years ago I was a unit manager in GT&O, and had a team of techies that were all WFH. What I quickly learned, is that it's a challenge to ensure productivity remotely. There is only a small percentage of WFH workers that are conscientious and disciplined enough to always be productive and available - especially in times of tech emergencies. Many people, even though their IM status was avail/busy, were usually just plain AWOL for large periods of the day. I knew of some Associates who had side-businesses they were running on Bank time. Also, in WFH, getting new hires up-to-speed takes 5x as long. New hires in the tech world should be shadowing a in-person mentor, full time for several weeks. This is impossible with WFH. I really came to the conclusion, that the same amount of work done by 10 WFH FTE, could easily have been reduced to half that amount of staff - when properly coached/supervised in-person. You're always going to have people that just want to hang around the water cooler, or just those that need to run too many personal errands every week. At least in person, these less productive team members can be singled-out much easier.

In the new plan, everyone is ordered back to the office. The un-vaccinated will be segregated like outcasts to the 'mask people area', and will be subjected to weekly tests. Vaccinated people will not want to interact with the people in the 'mask people area'. After a short time, the vaccinated people will begin to resent the 'mask people' for compromising the safety of the workplace. At that point, or possibly much sooner, the Bank will require you get the shot or resign.

Even with all the 'new variant' hysteria, kids are back in school, fans are back in stadiums, people are eating in restaurants. I can even go into a BOA BC and meet face-face with an associate. All the people that work in these places have made the decision to get the shot, and get back to work to keep their job. If you're still complaining that you 'deserve' to WFH, I have no sympathy for you.

Half the people in the bank do nothing all day, even when in the office.

@7nee+1cc1nkDJ do you think they are not moving our return to work date ever or just waiting for more people to quit and retire first?

I’m a spouse of a B of A employee who has worked remote since the sh-t down. I got Covid the next week and had Long Covid issues for 17 mos. I was mostly in bed. I’m not excited for my spouse to return. I’m recovered only 3 mos. and now we are headed back to the city. Families need to be considered as well. We are still knee deep in viruses out there. We both have secondary health concerns.

"At Bank of America Corp. , executives have sent memos in recent days requiring employees on site to wear face coverings while away from their desks and in spaces like conference rooms. ... employees said that the rise in Covid-19 cases “is a cause of increasing anxiety for many.” The company said it would continue its return-to-office schedule but reinstate a mask mandate for its U.S. employees.

Nope, still have to return to work and wear masks, vaccinated or not. At least we don't have to smell or at least masks the smell of the tikka masala brought for lunch.

Good luck y'all. Should've studied aerospace engineering instead.

You thought Delta was bad! Now we have Lambda variant Covid-19. Per a story in the Washington Examiner from a study in Japan its more infectious that the original virus but due to mutations in the spike proteins it 150% more resistant to antibodies. OK BM and the Ivory Tower Management you still think it safe to go back to the office? Do you want to sit in an office with the employees you consider the great "unwashed masses" you are forcing back into the office?

If you don’t want to RTO, then do not update your vaxx status in the portal. Was on town hall call this morning with the CAO Admin Exec who is executing BM’s RTO plans and he says they are not delaying RTO for vaccinated employees due to the delta variant.
If you haven’t updated your vaxx status, then there is currently no timetable for returning to office.

I'm a programmer. For decades I worked from design docs, not personal contact, in aerospace industry. When I came to the bank, I discovered the specs were not to the standard I was used to and I had to discuss to fill in gaps. Is that what they mean by collaboration? :-)

They had to pick September as a RTO date because that’s the last month of Q3 They have to tighten their belt to see who will give notice and how many layoffs they will need to do to make Shareholders happy. So they can get paid!!!

We just got an email yesterday from my second level. Different departments are handling RTO differently but our department is still using 30 return to work notice. I'm not in the data base because it's none of their business and still working from home with no RTO date in sight(thankfully). I hope and pray (I'm a big believer in the Holy Rosary) that it's along time before I if ever I go back.

I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for next week. Had is the operative word. Late last night I got a call from the officer manager that my appointment was cancelled and I have to reschedule. No Biggie took care of that this AM. My doctor's works in a primary care office for a large catholic based health care/hospital system. Apparently the primary care staff is being called into the hospital because of staff shortages. My next appointment may be cancelled too depending on Covid 30 days from from now. The not so smart management of BOA from BM down are still calling people back in the office! How stupid, uncaring and totally out of touch this company is.

Dont forget the whole RTO is to reduce staff and let them quit.

They have no business knowing my status. Their 38% came probably from retail and branch mostly. I don't think many corporate folks have 2shlts about going back in.

I'm not going back. I'll find a way to get severance if I have to. I'm done with this backwards thinking.

I'm trying to get out so bad. I realized staying at BofA was a huge mistake. Total raises in the last 5 years was less thank 10k. Got another internal role recently without a raise. No chance of a promo since those get worse every year and don't correlate to extra cash. There's absolutely no incentive to go back or to stay.

"We're an office culture" isn't an incentive.

We were told that bofa is no longer adhering to the 30 day advance notice.

You have to be out of your mind to go back to this shilthole of a company with the delta plus out there now. This virus is not going away anytime soon. I would tell your immediate managers you have to protect yourself and your family. DO NOT RTO FOR THIS D-MBAZZ COMPANY!!!!

The survey we took asked what date we preferred, and I chose Sept 9th. Anyone know if we will receive official confirmation 30 days prior (next week)?

What would they do if we just didn't show up and continued to work at home?

I am in So Cal and Delta is spreading. It'll depend on Delta if we go back or not. It's hard for folks with kids as it's difficult to plan and extracurriculars are in flux.

Good luck all!
